About
I’m a Senior Lighting Artist / 3D Generalist with 12 years of experience creating cinematic imagery across film, television, and animation. My work focuses on lighting, look development, rendering, and compositing, with a strong technical foundation that allows me to bridge the gap between creative vision and production needs.
I graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, with a BA in Visual Communication Design in 2010. After working 2 years as a Graphic and Web Designer, I moved to Bournemouth, UK to study Masters in 3D Computer Animation, at Bournemouth University in 2012. After I graduated, I returned to Istanbul and started working at various Istanbul based VFX studios, until July 2019. Then after I moved to Canada to continue my career as a Senior Lighting Artist in various major films and TV series, as well as game cinematics and shorts, in companies such as MPC, Mikros Animation, Axis Studios, Outpost VFX, and Pixomondo.
Over the years, I’ve worked across a variety of pipelines and projects, developing a particular passion for creating believable lighting and atmosphere while maintaining efficiency and consistency in a production environment. I enjoy solving complex visual and technical problems just as much as I enjoy the artistic side of the work.
My experience spans tools and workflows including Houdini, Solaris, Maya, Arnold, Redshift, Unreal Engine, Katana, and Nuke, as well as pipeline-oriented workflows. I’m always looking for new ways to push the image further, whether that means refining a lighting setup, building a more efficient workflow, or simply finding the right balance between realism and visual storytelling.
